Pippa is a beautiful female, full of spunk, energy and fun - Pippa truly fills the farm with smiles and laughter! Since our approach with our animals is very “hands on”, Pippa shows no fear of humans and is incredibly friendly. Pippa loves to give hugs to her friends and will stand right next to you for a good scratch! Her fleece is fantastic with its saturated “true black” color, crimp, style, and softness. Just like Padma, Pippa has excellent, balanced conformation and fleece that gives total coverage from her nose all the way down to her toes. A consistent blue ribbon winner at her first shows, judges comments include “beautifully balanced proportions”, “brightness consistent throughout her blanket”, “terrific coverage combined with a soft handle throughout”, “great capacity and feminine style”, “long staple combined with consistency across the blanket and soft handle across her frame”. Pippa is adored by all of Meadowgate and was bred for the first time this fall to none other than Titus! November cannot arrive fast enough!

Lily is a beautiful member of our farm! She is extremely photogenic and a watchful eye for the herd. Lily is well-liked by her surrounding alpacas, but can also be an independent leader for the group (especially when it is time to explore a new field). Her fiber quality has a high degree of density and consistent fineness from top to bottom, with lovely brightness, a long staple length, and a low micron count. Her conformation is also truly exceptional, as she exhibits a very feminine style. Lily has rewarded us with her first cria and this little female is absolutely stunning! Conformationally correct with a beautiful head, Rory captures everyone’s attention already. Her fiber is gorgeous: dense, full of architecture and substance and shine. We are anxious to get her in the show ring! Lily is taking time off and enjoying life as a single lady now that Hudson has been weaned.

Cinnamon is an instant favorite of anyone who visits Meadowgate with her genuinely curious and extremely friendly personality. She is known for her fascination with cameras, her love of attention, and her ability to stay still for as long as it takes to get a good scratch! She is also the face of Meadowgate Alpacas. Cinnamon's dense, fine fleece often makes her a fast friend for all farm visitors. Cinnamon’s first cria, Meadowgate’s Flying Ace, is a gorgeous male with dark points out of our own MGT Ringo’s Phoenix. Cinnamon is now happy to be spending her days relaxing or greeting farm visitors in the way only Cinnamon can!

Sidra is a daughter of Sheer Galaxy and it shows; her fiber is consistently dense and fine. She has a mellow disposition and quickly blended into our herd. Good friends with her buddies Padma, Lily, Cinnamon and Zendaya, she can often be found catching some "down" time in the fields - she always loves to relax. Sidra is a permanent farm resident, as she is Daniel’s personal favorite!

Deborah is our herd protector here at Meadowgate. She is always on the lookout for anything unusual and is the first to alert her group. She was an outstanding mother; patient, protective, loving, and gentle. The babies ADORE her! Deborah is living the life of retirement and continues to be a sweet force on the farm. Got a cria who is misbehaving? Send it to Deborah. Got an alpaca who doesn’t understand rules on the farm? Send them to Deborah. She’ll have things sorted out in no time at all! A farm favorite, Deborah will stand all day for a neck rub.

There are just not enough good things to say about Padma; we absolutely love her! She is sweet and easy to handle, always happy for a hug. Padma is very serene and genuinely kind to the other girls, who adore her. Padma’s amazing fleece has so much character - crimp galore! Her fleece is very fine, uniform, and consistent throughout. Padma has unpacked three gorgeous babies while here on the farm and her latest, Paisley, embodies her mother’s independent disposition for sure. Padma has been given the year off to enjoy farm life without the pressure of pregnancy or nursing, but she’s been happy to stay in the maternity barn and teach those crias a thing or two!

We are sure that you can see from these pictures that Zendaya loves people! This precious girl is always making us laugh. She seems to have a personal goal of being involved in everything that happens at Meadowgate. Zendaya loves to take pictures with visitors and rest her face on the top of the fence when she hears a human voice, watching for someone to greet. Zendaya’s fleece is extremely fine, bright, and uniform in its crimping - super soft! With her lovely feminine conformation and irreplaceable disposition, Zendaya is a truly marvelous alpaca! Zendaya has been bred to Titus for a November 2023 cria and we’re expecting great things.

Mary Leigh's beautiful eyes demonstrate her sweet and laid-back disposition, so she is a treat to have on the farm. We like Mary so much that we purchased her full sister, Smokin’ Hot, as well. After Dark is pure beauty from the inside out! We are so excited to have her as an addition to our herd. Super curious and sweet, After Dark loves to be at the forefront of all the daily happenings at the farm. Developing fast friendships with Ayla and Pippa, this sweet girl is so easy to get along with and always checking out new situations to see if there is anything she can do to “help” her new people. In addition to her charming disposition, After Dark has incredible fiber from top knot to tail. One look and you can see her full, compact density. Opening up her fiber shows off After Dark’s fineness, amazingly soft handle, beautiful shine, and fully saturated “true black” color. We are thrilled to be able to include this all around outstanding female as a part of Meadowgate’s herd! Belle is a new addition to our program here at Meadowgate and we are thrilled with what we see so far. Beautiful black fiber on a solid frame, Belle has consistent and bright coverage throughout her blanket with dense coverage all the way down to her toes. Originating from powerful genetics, Belle should be a terrific addition to our breeding program. Until then, it is a joy to have her friendly, bright personality on the farm! Belle’s first cria was an adorable female cria who weighed in at 18.6 pounds at birth! An exceptional first time mum, she is a natural and we are super proud of her.

This young female is one of the newer additions to our Meadowgate herd and we are so excited to have her join our program! “Hottie” is as stunning as her name suggests, with lovely character already showing in her fleece and a gorgeous saturation to her bay black fiber. Her blanket expresses full coverage and uniform fineness throughout. Judges were already commenting on her qualities and awarding her top placement, even with her cria tips still on. On top of all of this, Hottie has a charming, curious personality that we hope to encourage with family and visitors. Hottie recently wrapped up her show career on a high note, winning a Reserve Championship in Walking Fleece at the MAPACA show!

We were highly anticipating this little cria’s birth and, boy, we were not disappointed. Rory has all of the fleece qualities of her mother and father combined: density, fineness, structure, organization, shine and staple length. Add to that her gorgeous color on a frame that is straight, solid but feminine and we think we have a winner! Rory is sweet but displays some of her mom’s personality traits as well - she’s talkative when you handle her and she needs to make up her own mind about things. Update: Rory made her show appearance in February and was received as well as we hoped she would be. The judges commented on her excellent conformation, being well balanced and proportioned, and her gorgeous fiber, including her staple length, brightness, fineness and uniformity of micron. One judge finished by calling her “the complete package”! We couldn’t agree more.

Perfectly Paisley
The latest edition from farm favorite, Padma, Paisley’s fiber color was a wonderful surprise when she was unpacked. Cute as a button, with a personality full of sass and independence, she is another great example of what Padma can put together. Update June 2022: Paisley has been purchased but will remain on our farm as part of the herd. Whatever the future holds, you can be sure Paisley will handle it “perfectly”!

Guinevere
New to the farm this fall, Guinevere immediately adjusted to life here on our farm. What a sweet disposition, laid back and calm all day long. She will remind those of you who know our Sidra or had the pleasure of meeting Killi-Ann of those lovely females! Lovely fiber set on a nice sturdy frame, Guinevere is a new favorite in our herd. She is bred to Man in the Moon’s Rigel for a late fall cria and we are really excited to see the results.

She has incredibly long eyelashes and has adjusted to life here without a hiccup. Another tall girl with a correct, sturdy frame, Lyanna is enjoying her fall days in the maternity barn with her buddies and eating up pasture whenever she can. Betty is just a gorgeous female alpaca, who has a tall but correct build. Raised as a bottle baby, she comes with all of the curiosity and interest in people you would expect, plus just enough sweetness! Her genetics include industry favorites, like Orlando Cloud, Beethoven’s Dorian, and Snowmass so it’s not hard to see why her fiber is so lovely. Highs and lows are part of running a farm but it never gets easier. This morning, Meadowgate sadly said goodbye to one of our favorite female alpacas, Scotch Brite. Although she had the best medical care, she had stomach cancer that we just couldn't treat. Brave to the end, Scotch was also lovely, independent, smart, gentle, tough, easy to get along with and never any trouble. She was also the best Mom and terrific to all of the babies. If you ever visited the nursery here, you met Scotch. Scotch had a way of staring right into your soul and had definitely picked Nicole as her “person.” Our alpacas are part of our family and we will miss her terribly.

Today, Meadowgate said goodbye to one of the most peaceful animals on our farm. Killi-Ann was sweet, tough, gentle and accommodating right up to the end and left this world surrounded by our family’s love. She adored children, was easy to get along with, and would stand for a hug all day long. Products made with Killi’s fleece were always the first to sell because of the shine and softness. Killi-Ann was a farm favorite, having posed for countless selfies and photographs with visitors, but she was our personal family favorite too. Our lives were enriched by our time with her and her presence is missed on the farm every day.

Brownie was one of the sweetest members of our herd who adored being the center of attention. She was also one of the softest alpacas we have had on the farm and one of our biggest personalities. Everyone who visited the farm, both returning and new visitors, couldn’t help but smile at Brownie’s curiosity and nudges for a hug. She was always the first to greet visitors, and the last to leave. The anchor of our Alpaca Therapy Program and the one who helped us to begin it in 2018, Brownie never failed to combine her fearlessness with curiosity to enchant and bring joy to people everywhere. Sweet Brownie was such a big part of our daily interaction on the farm and her presence helped shape our mission. We are better off having known and loved her; our farm family will miss her very much.
